Grants & Applications

How to apply

All charity requests must go through an application process if and when a grant has been made available.

The Council Members (Trustees) wish to discourage charities from wasting time and resources on applications that fall outside the rules on eligibility and or have not been invited to make an application.

If there are any grants available, all requests must follow the criteria below.

Rules on eligibility

  • We accept applications from charities or projects in the north west region including Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside, the Wirral and Isle of Man. Other regions in which the Peel Group operate such as Glasgow and Chatham, Kent may also be considered.
  • Only registered charities can apply and work within any one of the following sectors: healthcare and medical research, culture and heritage, welfare, education & support for the young and the environment as detailed here.
  • Applications must have a long-term vision in relation to positively impacting people's quality of life, their welfare and environment.
  • The Peel Group Foundation will not make grants in response to unsolicited applications. Initial enquiries may be made in the Grants & Applications page.
  • All grants have a detailed level of eligibility criteria in addition to above.
